AK Steel has an immediate need for an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor at our Mountain State Carbon operations in Follansbee, West Virginia. Mountain State Carbon is located in the northern panhandle of West Virginia on the Ohio River. The facility consists of one six meter battery and three three-meter batteries with a total coke making capacity in excess of one million tons per year. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Supervise and provide work direction for hourly bargaining unit employees
Planning and follow through on maintenance repairs
Proficient in blue print reading and trouble shooting of electrical/electronic and hydraulic operations of equipment.
Technical experience with high voltage systems, motor control, process automation, instrumentation and combustion and programmable logic controls (PLC's).
Logic, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills
Knowledge of Delta V System a plus
Conduct safety contacts, observations, and meetings
Performs safety audits/observations within the department to detect existing or potential accident hazards
Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, quality, and productivity performance standards
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
Bachelor or Associate degree in management, related field or equivalent experience preferred.
Electrical supervisory experience in a union environment and/or heavy industry
Experience in manufacturing electrical maintenance
Requires electrical and electronic knowledge and experience in troubleshooting and problem solving
Exceptional analytical skills for problem solving as well as excellent communication skills
Must have a strong safety orientation and commitment quality.
Strong leadership and communication skills
Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
